Let’s define what worshipping is. Worship is to show reverence and adoration to God; to honor him. When most people think about worship standing in front a stage and singing a bunch of songs usually comes to mind but it’s actually so much more than that. It is not so much an act as it is a state of mind and a place where the heart lays.
Understand that worship is an unending love for God.
As God loves us he wants us to show the same love for him. It must be something that is on your mind constantly. Not just thinking about what can I do for him today but simply by having gratitude and a spirit of Love.
It is about always keeping our hearts and minds open to whatever good works he might have for us.
Worshipping keeps our hearts open to something that he might have waiting for us. Whether that is to give a helping hand, show love to a stranger, or keep our eyes open for that answer to a prayer we’ve had for him.
Worship is about showing our gratitude to what God has done for us.
We serve a radically loving God. Despite all the wrathful stories that we might have heard growing up, first and foremost, our God is CRAZY for us. He loves us more than anything or anyone could and he demonstrates that all the time to us.
Worship simply because God is who he is.
Besides all of the good things that God has done for us, he is deserving of our worship for no other reason than He is. He is the KING of Kings and it is based on that alone that we should give him our praise.
He wants to be nearer to us.
Worship opens a door that let’s us enter into companionship. He wants to have a relationship with us and when we worship he comes to be beside us. Simply for his presence, not for us to gain anything else but quality time.
