Are you trying to reach your goals and just seem to keep falling short?
Doesn’t matter if it’s fitness related, personal growth, relationship wise, school, or anything else!
Just feel like your failing at life in general?
I get it! I’ve been there on more than one occasion! Heck! I was there just a couple days ago!
See, this whole blogging thing is not easy. Plus, I’m trying to get more into personal fitness and build a stronger relationship with my boyfriend and make sure that I’m working on my self-growth.
It can be a lot!
So when any aspect of my life starts to unravel (and this week it was my blog) I start to lose it a little bit.
I question everything! I think about throwing in the towel and simply working for the weekend and eating whatever I wanted LOL.
But as I contemplate this thought, I keep thinking about how can I get out of this cycle!
I don’t want to live like this anymore! So I sat there and prayed and asked God, what can I do to make sure that I don’t give up!!
I mean I’m desperate. I want to live up to my own expectations and not live a life that I’m not proud of.
The next 7 steps are exactly what I use to ensure that I don’t give up and I’m so happy to share them with you!
1 // Trust in God
Whatever you do, don’t give up on God!
This one is huge for me! Whatever season I’m going through, I have to trust that it’s for a good reason and that includes seasons of growth and new things!
And the same if for you!
See God didn’t give you this particular dream or goal or life for no nothing!
He doesn’t make any mistakes and you were put on this Earth for a reason! You are designed for this life. Don’t ever give up God. He knows that he’s doing!
Here’s some verses to remind you!
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Matthew 10:30
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
2 // Think back to when you first started
Do you remember how hard it was to even take that first step? Do you really want to give all that hard work up?
I know this part of the journey is hard but won’t it be even harder to give up and then have to start all over?
My mom told me a phrase that basically said, do you remember when you started and how you never thought that you would be where you are now?
Think about that! How crazy is it that you’re here now?? Don’t give that up!
3 // Think about your future self
How will future you feel about you giving up? Will she be proud of you? Or will she look back on this moment and regret it?
I love that quote that says,
“I’m doing this for my future self!”Pinterest
and this one,
“Do something your future self will thank you for.”Pinterest
I also think about how giving up could affect other future things like kids or a husband.
I think about how I would like to be fitter to be able to keep up with my kids or what kind of life my husband and I can have if I keep working on my business.
It’s these little things that help me to not give up!
4 // Accept the mistakes
This is the hardest part for me! For so many years I thought that if I couldn’t be perfect at something from the get-go that I couldn’t do it! PERIOD. End of story.
If one thing went wrong, that was it and I was out!
I’m learning to accept that A) Me, you, anyone! Are only human and being human means making mistakes. B) Mistakes are where we learn! We’re not going to learn anything if nothing goes wrong! And that growth is what will make us into the person that we want to be!
5 // Do it for yourself
If you’re like me than you know that it’s difficult to do anything for ourselves.
I’m my own worst enemy and I’m sure you are too!
That’s why you need to put that little voice away and prove it to yourself that YOU. CAN. DO. THIS. Do it for yourself and prove that hating voice inside wrong!

6 // Focus on the outcome
Alright this one is actually taken from EveryDay Power, they wrote this amazing post on things to do when you feel like giving up and this was on there and I couldn’t believe how on point it is!
I’m super guilty of getting caught up in the process of getting to the outcome that I sometimes forget the goal that I’m actually working on!
I get blinders on and I can see what’s directly in front of me and that means problem after problem!
Don’t get me wrong, the process can be really fun! It’s an amazing adventure! But I know that it doesn’t always feel like it and that’s when we feel like giving up.
However, this is a crucial moment to focus on the goal! Focus on what you’re working so hard to get toward!
I love doing this by writing it down everyday.
Having a vision board.
And getting an accountability partner to remind myself of my outcome!
These are all super great ways to focus on the outcome and not the obstacles standing in the way.
7 // Take a day off
If none of the above is working than it’s time to take a break!
Lock the doors.
Get a mini-vacay or stay-ca and relax!
Sometimes we’re just too close to the project and overwork ourselves.
It’s totally okay to just take a break and focus on yourself for a minute. Remember that you can’t pour from an empty cup.
And don’t feel guilty about it! You’re doing yourself a favor by taking some time off. You can return to the project with a fresh perspective and renewed strength to tackle the problem.
Take advantage of this list that I’ve made for you to get some inspiration for your next day off! Take care of yourself, hon!
It is not easy. The road to success is twisted and sometimes broken but it can always be repaired and navigated! Just so long as we don’t give up! Don’t ever give up on your yourself or your dreams.
All the best!
