How do you reset a bad day

I’ve got an awesome cheatsheet for you today! A list of ways to reset a bad day!

We’ve all had those days where it’s just nothing is going the way that it normally should go!

Either we woke up late or we’re out of coffee or maybe just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. In any case, the day just seems so off that nothing is getting done!

Plus there’s this weird funk in the air that just can’t be erased!

It can be so frustrating!

Especially if you’re anything like me who needs routine and structure to get anything done!

And if you’re like me, then the whole day just feels wasted!

I mean you would think that that by itself would be the best motivator, right?? For some reason my brain missed the memo!

So I’ve been working on a way to reset a bad day no matter what. You can still make it a great and productive day!

8 essential tips to reset a bad day

1 // Take 5 minutes

Just take a few minutes and sit back and allow yourself to relish in the mess up! Give yourself these few minutes to wallow!

But when those few minutes are up, it’s time to reclaim the day! You’ve had all the bad thoughts and feelings so now it’s time to make the day proud!

2 // Fix yourself up

If you’ve rushed to get ready for the day then you probably feel a little incomplete.

Finish that off! Fix your makeup, hair, outfit, whatever!

Whatever will help you to feel more like yourself and more together.

This will help you feel a calmer and more in control of your day.

3 // Shift your mindset

I know that when I get into those kind of ruts, my mind can get a little stuck.

It’s difficult to come back and focus on the day at hand. I usually just like to try to do as little as possible in order to start fresh tomorrow.

You can see how counterproductive this kind of thinking can be!

And this is the exact kind of thinking that needs to be reversed!

And I have the perfect 7 steps to change your mindset, here!

4 // Indulge a little

Just give in and have a little pity party for yourself! Take a little nap, have some food that is not on your diet, or get another cup of coffee!

Just be sure to not give in for too long. This is just supposed to be a break; a time to let yourself deal with whatever negative emotions are going on.

Do this and get back on track!

5 // Get if off your chest

Write it out.

Call and vent.

Scream about it.

Whatever works for you!

Just don’t let what’s upsetting you go unnoticed. Don’t try to ignore it and bottle it up! Trust me, you don’t want that!

6 // Pick up where you are

Let’s say that you’re trying everything and it just doesn’t seem to be going back to normal. Now it’s time to do what you were going to do anyways.

Alright, that seems a little off but what I mean is that no matter what time it is, think back to your usual schedule and do what you would normally do at that time.

Like I usually wake up between 4 and 430 a.m. but if I accidentally sleep in and I can’t bounce back right away. I’ll look at the time and just pick up from there. If it’s 7 a.m, I’ll do my daily chores. I’ll sweep, do the dishes, and vacuum. Then move onto the next task like nothing ever changed!

Usually it works! I can feel my body get back into its regular rhythm and move on with my day.

Sometimes it doesn’t work and that’s okay! The best I can say is that I’m trying.

7 // Take a walk

Okay, you don’t have to take a walk but get your butt up and moving!

Get your blood flowing a little bit and feel the rush of endorphins!

Working out is also a great way to boost brain function so it’s perfect for a little charge to getting back to work.

8 // Have a good laugh

Not much is better than a good laugh, am I right?? The kind that gets you breathless, the kind that makes you feel lighter than air, the kind that makes it seem like everything is going to be A-OKAY!

I love a good laugh! It just seems that the world takes a break and breathes for a moment.

Afterwards everything that seemed to be going wrong, don’t matter anymore! Then you can take tip #6 and get back on track with your day!

It’s okay to have bad days and off days, just do your best to try and salvage what’s left of your day! And if you can’t, that’s okay too! Give yourself some grace and don’t beat yourself up over it! Don’t lose your mind over not being able to reset a bad day!
